The Airport Station Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing ground operations to ensure efficient and safe airport activities. This role involves coordinating with various departments, handling passenger inquiries, ensuring compliance with airport regulations, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Supervise ground operations, including check-in, boarding, baggage handling, and aircraft turnaround, cargo processes along with management of dry-store inventory.

  • Coordinate with airport authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

  • Monitor and manage on-time performance and address any operational disruptions.

Customer Service:

  • Address passenger inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

  • Assist passengers with special needs, including those requiring wheelchair assistance, etc.,

  • Handle customer complaints and feedback, striving to enhance the overall passenger experience.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all ground operations adhere to safety and security guidelines.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.

  • Report and investigate any incidents or accidents, implementing corrective actions as needed.


Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of all operational activities, incidents, and passenger interactions.

  • Prepare and submit reports to the Station Manager and other relevant authorities.

  • Manage resources and inventory, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in good condition.



  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.



  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in airport operations, ground handling, or a similar role.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience is highly desirable.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions.

  • Proficiency in using airport management software and other relevant IT systems (Desirable).

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.

  • Knowledge of airport safety and security regulations.
